CECP provides investment advisory services to an affiliated US registered investment adviser in respect of certain Carlyle-advised funds.

History

CECP (Chief Executives for Corporate Purpose) was founded in 1999 by actor and philanthropist Paul Newman and other business leaders who recognized the potential of the corporate sector to drive positive social change. The organization was established to support and inspire CEOs and their companies to leverage their resources and influence for societal good, creating a network of like-minded leaders committed to integrating purpose into business strategies.

Initially focused on promoting corporate philanthropy, CECP evolved over the years to address a broader spectrum of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues. As globalization accelerated and the challenges facing societies became more complex, CECP expanded its reach and scope. It began offering more comprehensive services, including strategic advisory, benchmarking, research, and convening events, to help companies develop and implement effective purpose-driven initiatives.

CECP's influence grew as it fostered a community of leading global companies dedicated to advancing corporate purpose. The organization's flagship event, the CECP Summit, became a premier gathering for corporate leaders to share insights, strategies, and best practices. CECP's annual "Giving in Numbers" report, a widely respected benchmark in the field of corporate philanthropy, provided critical data and analysis on trends in corporate giving and social investment.

To further its mission on a global scale, CECP launched the Global Exchange in recent years, a network of mission-driven corporate societal engagement organizations from around the world. The Global Exchange aims to unite these organizations to advance the corporate sector as a force for good, leveraging regional resources, local insights, and global trends to support companies' strategic decisions and enhance their social impact efforts.

Today, CECP continues to lead the charge in promoting corporate purpose, helping companies navigate the evolving landscape of CSR and ESG, and driving long-term business success through positive social impact. With a robust network of global partners and a steadfast commitment to its founding principles, CECP remains at the forefront of the movement to harness the power of business for societal good.

Mission

Their mission is to unite companies in their pursuit of social impact by providing resources, insights, and a collaborative network to support and enhance their efforts.

They aim to foster a corporate landscape where companies view societal engagement as integral to their business strategies, where social impact is embedded into corporate DNA, and where businesses strive to make meaningful contributions to the communities and environments in which they operate.

Vision

The vision of CECP is to create a world where businesses not only prioritize profit but also recognize and actively address their responsibilities to society.

CECP envisions a future where corporations leverage their resources, expertise, and influence to tackle pressing social challenges, drive positive change, and create shared value for all stakeholders. Through collaboration, innovation, and strategic counsel, CECP seeks to empower companies to maximize their societal impact and fulfil their potential as drivers of global progress and prosperity.

Products and Services

While CECP primarily focuses on providing advisory and networking services to companies looking to enhance their corporate social engagement, they do not offer traditional products in the sense of tangible goods. Instead, their offerings revolve around knowledge, insights, and strategic support aimed at helping companies maximize their societal impact while creating sustainable value.

Here's an overview of the products and services CECP provides:

Research Reports: CECP produces industry-leading research reports that offer insights into corporate social engagement trends, best practices, and the impact of various initiatives. These reports are valuable resources for companies looking to stay informed about emerging issues, benchmark their efforts against peers, and identify opportunities for improvement.

Benchmarking Tools: CECP offers benchmarking tools and services that allow companies to assess their performance in corporate social engagement relative to industry peers and best practices. By comparing their efforts against those of other organizations, companies can gain valuable insights and identify areas for growth and improvement.

Strategic Consulting: CECP provides strategic consulting services to help companies develop and refine their corporate social engagement strategies. This may involve defining mission statements, setting goals, identifying key initiatives, and aligning efforts with business objectives to maximize impact and value.

Communications Support: CECP assists companies in effectively communicating their corporate social engagement initiatives to internal and external stakeholders. This includes crafting messaging, developing communication strategies, and leveraging various channels to build awareness, engagement, and support for social impact efforts.

Convening Events: CECP organizes conferences, workshops, and other events that bring together leaders from the business, nonprofit, and academic sectors to facilitate collaboration, knowledge sharing, and best practice exchange. These events provide valuable networking opportunities and enable companies to learn from experts and peers in the field.
