The company was formerly known as USEC Inc. and changed its name to Centrus Energy Corp. in September 2014. Centrus Energy Corp. was incorporated in 1998 and is headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland.

History

Centrus Energy was originally founded as the US Enrichment Corporation in 1992 with the mission to separate and enrich uranium into fuel for nuclear power plants. It changed its name to USEC Inc. in 1998, and in April 2013, the company rebranded itself Centrus Energy. The company is owned by Centrus Energy Corp., a publicly-traded company that is focused on producing and providing enriched uranium fuel services to power nuclear plants.
