Slater has worked with several renowned companies such as Playstation, BAE Systems, Co-op, and Liverpool Football Club, and aims to equip young girls with the skills, confidence, and self-belief they need to pursue a career in tech while making the industry ready to take them on. Her active involvement in Europe's startup ecosystem is evidence of her dedication to her work.

Chelsea's background includes an MA in Social Media and Business from Birmingham City University, which she leverages to help businesses develop strategies that are effective in the digital age. Her experience in the tech industry began with her co-founding Liverpool Girl Geeks, where she worked to create opportunities for women in technology through events, training, and mentorship.

In 2017, Chelsea and co-founder Jo Morfee launched InnovateHer, building on their previous work with Liverpool Girl Geeks. InnovateHer's mission is to close the gender gap in the tech industry by providing girls with hands-on experiences and the opportunity to develop tech skills, as well as by working with businesses to make them more inclusive. The organization runs a schools program for 13-17 year-olds that teaches digital and technology skills, as well as offering training and support to teachers. Additionally, InnovateHer works with tech businesses to help them develop strategies for recruiting, training, and retaining women in tech roles.

InnovateHer's work has received recognition from a variety of organizations, including the UK government, which awarded the organization a £50,000 grant to support its expansion. Chelsea's leadership and dedication have also been recognized, with her being named one of Forbes' 30 Under 30 in Europe in 2018 and receiving the Northern Power Women Award for Innovation in 2020.

Chelsea's passion for diversity and inclusion extends beyond her work with InnovateHer. She is a regular speaker at events and conferences, sharing her insights on the importance of diversity in the tech industry and strategies for achieving it. She also offers consulting services to businesses looking to improve their diversity and inclusion efforts, including recruitment, education outreach, event planning, and digital marketing strategy.
