In 2017, Chelsea and co-founder Jo Morfee launched InnovateHer, building on their previous work with Liverpool Girl Geeks. InnovateHer's mission is to close the gender gap in the tech industry by providing girls with hands-on experiences and the opportunity to develop tech skills, as well as by working with businesses to make them more inclusive. The organization runs a schools program for 13-17 year-olds that teaches digital and technology skills, as well as offering training and support to teachers. Additionally, InnovateHer works with tech businesses to help them develop strategies for recruiting, training, and retaining women in tech roles.
InnovateHer's work has received recognition from a variety of organizations, including the UK government, which awarded the organization a £50,000 grant to support its expansion.
