This segment also provides other unregulated energy services, such as energy-related merchandise sales; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning services; and plumbing and electrical services. The company was founded in 1859 and is headquartered in Dover, Delaware.

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation is a diversified energy company engaged, directly or through operating divisions and subsidiaries, in regulated and unregulated energy businesses. The Company's common stock began trading on the NASDAQ Exchange in 1985 and on the New York Stock Exchange in 1993.
The company began construction of the controversial Eastern Shore Pipeline on the Eastern Shore of Maryland in 2021.
