Biography

David Linthicum is a globally recognised expert in artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and cybersecurity. Born and raised in the United States, Linthicum embarked on a career in technology in the 1990s, eventually becoming a leading figure in enterprise technology innovation.

 

In the early stages of his career, he worked at Mobil Oil, where he served as Technical Director in the Computer Services Division from 1990 to 1995. He moved on to roles at HP Enterprise Services, AT&T Solutions, and Ernst & Young, contributing to distributed computing practices, enterprise application integration (EAI) strategies, and technology enablement.

 

Between 1997 and 2001, Linthicum became Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at SAGA Software. He led the development of middleware solutions like Sagavista, which became a foundational enterprise service bus (ESB) product. From 2004 to 2006, as CTO of Grand Central Communications, he oversaw one of the earliest Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) products for cloud-based data integration.

 

In 2006, Linthicum founded Blue Mountain Labs, where he focused on emerging cloud computing technologies. His leadership in cloud strategy and architecture laid the groundwork for innovative solutions. Between 2013 and 2017, he served as Senior Vice President at Cloud Technology Partners, which Hewlett Packard Enterprise later acquired.

 

From 2018 to 2024, Linthicum was Managing Director and Chief Cloud Strategy Officer at Deloitte Consulting LLP. Here, he developed AI-driven solutions that integrated intelligent systems into cloud infrastructures, driving market disruption and operational efficiency.
