Before becoming CEO of Hashgraph, Eric served as the Chief Revenue Officer and Chief Operating Officer at Swirlds Labs, where he played a key role in advancing the Hedera protocol and its ecosystem. Earlier in his career, he held executive and management positions at several major organisations, including IBM Watson Health, Emerging Business Networks, Deloitte, and Citizens Reserve.
In addition to his executive responsibilities, Eric Piscini advises several technology companies such as TINIUM Inc. and Avaneer Health. He is also an investor in innovative ventures including Curv (acquired by PayPal) and Suku. Biography
Eric Piscini completed his early education there, excelling in both engineering and economics. In 1993, he graduated with a Master's degree in Engineering from Polytech Sorbonne, followed by another Master's degree in Economics from CY Cergy Paris Université.
Piscini's professional journey began in the early 1990s when he started working in information security and technology consulting. He joined Dexia in 1997, where he worked as an Information Security Officer until 1999. During this period, he was responsible for internal IT audits and disaster recovery, setting the foundation for his future roles in technology and business management.
In 1999, he moved to Merial, a leading animal health company, where he worked in various roles, including Global IS Director. Piscini played a significant role in the implementation of global IT strategies, including managing large budgets, leading a team of engineers, and aligning IT infrastructure with business strategies. His work at Merial involved reducing costs, improving service delivery, and rationalising global server infrastructures. He stayed with Merial until 2006, contributing significantly to the company's digital transformation.
In 2006, Piscini moved to Hubbard ISA, a division of Merial, as the Chief Information Officer. There, he led the design and execution of new customer-facing initiatives and global solutions. He managed a global team and oversaw the implementation of technology solutions that would enhance business efficiency. His efforts resulted in a 20% reduction in operational costs and significant improvements in global IT services.
Piscini’s journey in the blockchain space began in 2013 when he joined Deloitte as an Equity Partner and the Global Blockchain Leader. He led Deloitte’s blockchain team, growing it to 1,200 people and generating $50 million in revenue. His work at Deloitte was instrumental in initiating the firm's blockchain transformation strategy, helping clients in the financial services and technology sectors adopt blockchain technology. In 2018, he co-founded SUKU by Citizens Reserve, where he served as the CEO.
