History
Fortress Global Enterprises Inc. was established in 1995 and is based in Montreal, Canada. The company is one of the largest producers of dissolving pulp in the world. The dissolving pulp is used mainly in textile markets in Asia, Europe, and North America. In 2007, the company announced that it had acquired a 78 percent stake in two private companies that control a biomass project in Eastern Canada. In 2012, Fortress Global entered a joint venture partnership with an Asian partner to develop a new facility that produces cellulose specialties. In 2013, Fortress Global announced that it had acquired a majority stake in a US-based timberland management business.
