History

Genie Energy was founded in 1999 by a group of energy industry veterans who sought to create a national energy retailer. After years of success in the deregulated natural gas and electricity markets, Genie has emerged as one of the leading providers of these services in the United States. Genie offers services to residential and commercial customers in 17 states, including New Jersey, New York, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Illinois, and California.
