The U.S. Life Insurance segment offers long-term care insurance products; and service traditional life insurance and fixed annuity products in the United States. The Runoff segment includes variable annuity, variable life insurance, and corporate-owned life insurance, as well as funding agreements. It distributes its products through sales force, in-house sales representatives, and digital marketing programs. The company was founded in 1871 and is headquartered in Richmond, Virginia.
History

Genworth Financial was founded in 1871 by John T. Rapine and is headquartered in Richmond, VA. In 1903 the newly incorporated company changed its name to Genworth and in 1925 Genworth introduced the first group annuity policy in the United States. In 1980, Genworth introduced its first individual disability income insurance policy and in 2001 they launched the first commercial mortgage-backed security. Today, Genworth is a leading provider of individual and group life insurance and disability income insurance, as well as annuity products.
