Gluskin Sheff + Associates Inc. was founded in 1984 by Ira Gluskin and Gerald Sheff. The company began providing traditional fee-based consulting services to high net worth individuals, foundations and corporations. In 1985, Gluskin Sheff established the Gluskin Sheff Balanced Fund – the first mutual fund focused on building a global, balanced portfolio. The company grew from there, and in 1991 Gluskin Sheff introduced the Gluskin Sheff General Fund, providing a more conservative mutual fund investment opportunity.
