History

Gold Fields was founded by Cecil Rhodes and Charles Rudd in 1887. Multiple mergers and acquisitions over the years that followed shaped the company into what it is today. In 2013, the company acquired the remaining stake in the Chucapaca project in Peru, and merged with the Gold Fields of South Africa to form a global powerhouse.
