Summary
History
Grupo Financiero Banorte was founded in 1889 and is the oldest financial group in Mexico. In combination with a strong presence throughout the country, it is one of the largest financial groups in Latin America. Its operations began in Mexico City, where the headquarters was located. In 1925 the company was listed on the Mexican Stock Exchange. In 1972 the Group opened its equity market operations in Mexico. Over time, its jurisdictional expansion has allowed it to offer its products to other countries in Latin America, such as Nicaragua and Guatemala. In addition, Banorte is the first financial group in Mexico to receive international certification.
