History

Hallador Energy Company was founded in 2002 by a team of experienced coal industry executives. The company began operations in 2003 and quickly grew its presence in the Indiana coal market. Since then, Hallador has diversified its operations to include mining, marketing, shipping and consulting. Hallador is based in Terre Haute, Indiana and is the largest independent producer of coal in the state.
