History

The company traces its origins back to 1871 when the bank was founded in Stockholm, Sweden. The company rapidly expanded through the years and eventually opened branches in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand in addition to its Scandinavian locations. The bank continues to be owned by the founding family and is now the largest bank in Sweden.
