History

Hyundai Motor Company was established in 1967 by Chung Ju-Yung in South Korea. In 1968, a truck production was introduced, the Hyundai 1540. In 1975, Hyundai Frontier was launched followed by the Hyundai Pony, the first mass-produced Korean car in 1976. A year later, Hyundai Motor Company joins the ranks of automakers that export to the U.S. market. By 2003, Hyundai Motor was the 6th largest automobile manufacturer in the world.
