History
Intrawest began in 1976 as a Canadian-based ski resort developer. In 1993, Intrawest became a publicly traded company on the Toronto Stock Exchange and eventually expanded its ski resort operations to the United States. Intrawest acquired the Canadian ski resort operator, Whistler Mountain Ski Corporation, and subsequently acquired the mountain resort operations of Mammoth Mountain Ski Area.
