The story of J.Jill began in 1959, when women’s apparel pioneer J. Jill Rog ge opened the “J. Jill Knitting Salon” in Quincy, Mass. Rogge was one of the first to recognize that the American woman wanted personalized styling, an easy-care yet updated wardrobe that could take her from day to evening, and clothing in sizes 12 and larger. The company’s catalog was born in 1977 and within a few years, it had taken off as a sought-after must-have within the apparel industry.
