History

Japan Exchange Group was established in 2013 as the result of a merger between the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) and Osaka Securities Exchange (OSE). This followed a recommendation from the Japanese government in 2012 to combine the exchanges in an effort to enhance the efficiency and lower the cost of trading for investors. The merger allowed for the creation of Japan Exchange Group as a single, integrated exchange across the country.
