Jesse Wiley

Jesse Wiley is a member of the seventh generation of the Wiley family, who served on the Board since 2012. He was appointed the Non-Executive Chairman of the Board in 2019, succeeding his predecessor, Matthew Kissner, who stepped down from the Board to take on the role of EVP and Group Executive reporting into President and CEO, Brian Napack.

John Wiley & Sons, Inc., commonly known as Wiley, is an American multinational publishing company founded in 1807 that focuses on academic publishing and instructional materials. The company produces books, journals, and encyclopedias, in print and electronically, as well as online products and services, training materials, and educational materials for undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education students.

Jesse holds a degree in Executive Education from Stanford University and a BA in Business from San Francisco State University, Lam Family College of Business.

Jesse Wiley has been an integral part of Wiley, the renowned publishing house, for over 17 years, contributing significantly to its strategic development and business initiatives. Currently serving as the Chair of the Board of Directors since February 2019, Jesse plays a pivotal role in guiding the overall direction of the company. 

His extensive tenure includes serving as the Director of the Board for over 11 years, demonstrating a deep understanding of Wiley's operations and industry dynamics. In his role as Director, he has chaired the Technology Committee, showcasing his leadership in the rapidly evolving technological landscape.

Jesse's diverse expertise is evident through his various roles, including Corporate Planning & Development, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and strategic partnerships. As the 7th generation of Wileys working at the company, he also manages Wiley family business affairs. 

His strategic approach to business development and commitment to innovation is reflected in his role as the driver of strategic business development, where he worked on partnerships and innovative solutions to facilitate customer success. Jesse's contributions extend to collaborating on digital and new business initiatives, working with partners, authors, and colleagues to develop and disseminate knowledge products across various platforms. From marketing professional and trade books to steering strategic partnerships, Jesse Wiley has played a crucial role in shaping Wiley's trajectory in the dynamic landscape of publishing and education.
