Kane Biotech was founded in 2004 when it secured its first technology license from an academic institution. Since then, the company has expanded its technology portfolio through internal development, collaborations, and licenses with industry partners. In 2016, Kane Biotech was recognized as a high-growth company in Canada and was awarded the Technology Commercialization Award by the Canadian Innovation Exchange.
