Labrador Iron Mines Holdings Limited, a mineral resource company, engages in the business of exploration, development, and mining of iron ore projects in Canada. History

The Schefferville region had iron mines in the 1950s.

A rail line was constructed from Schefferville, south approximately 600 kilometres to Sept-Îles, Quebec, a seaport on the Gulf of St. Lawrence.

Labrador Iron Mines first shipments, in April 2012, were the first shipments in thirty years.

In January 2013, the firm announced that it had entered into an agreement with a syndicate of underwriters led by Canaccord Financial for a C$25.2-million equity financing.

Labrador Iron Mines Holdings Limited has been recognized multiple times with awards in the areas of Employee Health and Safety, Community Engagement, and Environmental Performance. In 2007, LIM was the recipient of the Mining Excellence Award for Environmental Performance and in 2014, we were the recipients of the Nova Scotia Occupational Health and Safety Excellence Award.
