History

Lannett was founded in 1942 by Irwig and Raymond Lannett in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Initially, Lannett focused on manufacturing products related to the leather industry. The company then branched out in the 1950s and began to manufacture ethyl cellulose used as a film coating for capsules.
