Loop Industries

Loop Industries, Inc., a technology company, focuses on depolymerizing waste polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastics and polyester fibers into base building blocks. It polymerized monomers into virgin-quality PET resins for use in food-grade plastic packaging, such as plastic bottles for water and carbonated soft drinks, and containers for food and other consumer products; and polyester fibers, including textiles, clothing, and apparel. The company was incorporated in 2010 and is based in Terrebonne, Canada.

Loop Industries’ mission is to provide a cost-effective, North American based circular solution for converting plastic waste into a closed-loop material stream. This creates an opportunity to recapture a large proportion of plastic waste, while also creating job opportunities and reducing the environmental impact of plastic waste.

Loop Industries’ vision is to create a sustainable, circular economy for plastic by providing the industry with its first-ever chemical recycling solution. This process is designed to reduce the number of plastics going to landfills and oceans, and to provide companies with sustainable plastic options that are safe, high-quality, and cost-effective.
