History
Maple Gold Mines was founded by a Canadian prospector, James Douglas, in 1883. His original claim was for a small gold deposit near what is now known as the town of Maple Ridge, Manitoba. Over the next few decades, James Douglas and investors acquired several other properties and conducted extensive exploration programs, leading to the development of a larger mining operations in both Manitoba and Ontario. By the early twentieth century, Maple Gold Mines had expanded its operations to include over a dozen mining projects throughout the region.

Recognition and Awards
Maple Gold Mines has been recognized for its achievements in the gold exploration and mining industry, from local and national awards to global recognition. In 2008, the company was awarded the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada's best Mineral Exploration Project for its work at the Douay Gold Project. Maple Gold Mines has also won numerous awards for its commitment to responsible gold exploration and mining, including two recognitions in 2020 from the United Nations Global Compact and Canada's Sustainable Development Awards.
