History

Matterport was founded in 2011 by co-founders Matthew Bell, Dave Gausebeck and Mike Beebe. The three met as part of the computer vision program at Stanford University, and realized the potential of computer vision in the realm of building digital models of real-world spaces. In 2016, Matterport became the first company to introduce 3D capture and digital modeling for real estate professionals. Since then, Matterport has continued to grow and expand its offerings to include a range of applications such as virtual walkthroughs, marketing and virtual staging.
