Merit Valdsalu

Merit Valdsalu has built an impressive career in the tech industry since 2010. Starting as a student advisor and tech writer, they quickly rose to become Head of Localization at Pipedrive, where they implemented an efficient and scalable localization process. After managing the Open Access project at the University of Tartu Library, Merit co-founded StandByMate and Kardemon Digital Marketing, where they honed their skills in project management, team leadership, and entrepreneurship. In 2019, they founded Single.Earth, a startup with a platform for sustainable land-use projects, and currently serve as its CEO. Merit Valdsalu is an accomplished professional with a diverse range of experiences in the tech industry. They have been active in this field since 2010, when they started their career as a Student Advisor for EducationUSA and a Tech Writer for Raintree Systems, Inc. During this time, Merit gained valuable experience in educational advising and technical writing that would serve them well in future roles.

In 2012, Merit joined Pipedrive as Head of Localization, where they quickly made their mark by creating an efficient and scalable localization process. Pipedrive is a sales CRM software solution, and Merit's role was crucial in ensuring that the company's software was effectively localized for users in different countries and languages. During their time at Pipedrive, Merit gained a deep understanding of the importance of process optimization, project management, and effective communication in the tech industry.

In 2014, Merit took on a new challenge as the Open Access publishing specialist at the University of Tartu Library. In this role, they managed the Open Access project and organized annual international Open Access Week conferences. This work was instrumental in promoting open access to scholarly publications and making research more widely available to the public. Merit's expertise in project management and event planning proved invaluable in this position, and they developed a strong network of contacts in the academic community.

In 2017, Merit co-founded StandByMate, a startup focused on providing customer support solutions for the tech industry. This venture allowed Merit to apply their experience in project management, team leadership, and process optimization to a new context. In 2018, they co-founded Kardemon Digital Marketing, an agency that provides content marketing, SEO, social media management, online advertising, and other solutions to businesses. This venture allowed Merit to expand their skills in digital marketing and entrepreneurship.

In 2019, Merit co-founded Single.Earth, where they currently serve as the CEO. Single.Earth is a startup that aims to make sustainable forest and land management the new norm. The company provides a platform that allows companies and individuals to compensate for their carbon footprint by investing in sustainable land-use projects. Merit Valdsalu obtained a Master's degree in English Language and Literature, General from the University of Tartu between 2007 and 2012.
