Michael Kill is the CEO of the Night Time Industries Association (NTIA). He is the Vice President of the International Nightlife Association (INA), serving in the European Region and as the United Nations CoNGO Representative. He is the Chairperson of the UK Door Security Association (UKDSA). Michael is also the Company Secretary of Raising The Bar Limited and a PR & Marketing Consultant at Killer PR.

 

Michael’s career includes roles such as the Assistant Director of Social Enterprise at the University of East Anglia Student Union, and the Head of Venues and Head of Operations & Marketing at the University of East Anglia. He has served as the Head of Operations at The Drink Experience Group Ltd and Operations Director at The Vibe Bar. Additionally, he held the position of General Manager at The Regal and Northern Leisure. He has also worked as the Senior Product Manager (Music) at Luminar Leisure Head Office and as a General Manager at Luminar Leisure.
 

Michael has been involved in several high-level initiatives with local and national governments, stakeholders, and operators of venues, bars, and pubs. He has worked with festivals and live venues on operational efficiencies and best practices, in collaboration with the police and local authorities. He has been involved in procurement contracts with international retail suppliers, generating significant revenues.

 

Michael has also been instrumental in the rollout of national music event strategies and has worked closely with artists and music brands to develop shows for standalone events and festivals across the UK. He maintains strong relationships within the industry as an operator, promoter, and procurement specialist.

 

Michael holds A-Levels in Maths, Biology, and Chemistry from South Downs College and has studied at King's College London. 

Biography

Michael Kill completed his A-Levels in Maths, Biology, and Chemistry at South Downs College, he pursued further studies at King's College London. Early in his career, Michael began working in the night-time industry, where he developed his expertise in operations, event marketing, and business development.
 

His professional journey includes a number of senior roles at several organisations. He worked at Luminar Leisure, where he held various positions and contributed to the development of operational systems for large venues. Michael’s role as Senior Product Manager for Music at Luminar Leisure allowed him to oversee music-related projects, ensuring the smooth running of entertainment programmes. After this, he moved on to The Drink Experience Group Ltd, where he was Head of Operations, and later took on a leadership role at The Vibe Bar.
 

In 2008, Michael transitioned to working with various companies as a PR and Marketing Consultant. His consulting work allowed him to collaborate with artists, music brands, and festivals, creating bespoke shows and events. He was involved in managing multi-business procurement contracts, generating significant revenue for businesses within the entertainment sector.


In 2018, Michael became the CEO of the Night Time Industries Association (NTIA), where he has worked tirelessly to represent the UK’s night-time economy. His work has involved lobbying for better recognition of the sector, particularly after the challenges brought on by Covid-19. Michael also serves as Vice President of the International Nightlife Association (INA) and is a key figure in the European region of the United Nations.
 

He has been instrumental in advocating for policies that benefit night-time industries and has worked alongside local authorities, the police, and industry leaders to develop best practices. His leadership has extended to projects focused on developing operational efficiencies for venues, bars, and festivals across the UK. Michael is also a Trustee for the Nine Point Eight Charity, supporting various community initiatives.
 

Currently, Michael continues to lead the NTIA, representing the sector on both national and international stages. His work focuses on ensuring the night-time industry’s long-term stability, securing industry-wide innovation, and advocating for reforms that benefit all stakeholders involved in the sector.
