History

Mondelez International is an American multinational food and beverage company that produces a wide range of snack products, including cookies, crackers, chocolates, and chewing gum. The company was originally founded as the National Dairy Products Corporation (NDPC) in 1923, and it has since gone through several mergers and acquisitions to become the global corporation it is today.

NDPC was formed by Thomas H. McInnerney, who had previously worked for the American Dairy Products Institute, and it focused on producing and distributing dairy products. Over time, the company began to expand its product line to include other food and beverage items. In 1928, the company changed its name to Kraft-Phenix Cheese Corporation after merging with the Phenix Cheese Company.

The company continued to grow through a series of acquisitions, including the acquisition of the National Biscuit Company (Nabisco) in 1928. In 1930, Kraft-Phenix changed its name to Kraft-Phenix Cheese and Nabisco, and it continued to operate under that name until 1969 when it changed its name to Kraftco Corporation.

In 1980, Kraftco Corporation merged with Dart Industries to become Dart & Kraft, Inc. The new company continued to expand through acquisitions, including the acquisition of Jacobs Suchard, a Swiss chocolate and coffee company, in 1990. In 1995, Dart & Kraft spun off its non-food business and changed its name to Kraft Foods Inc.

In 2012, Kraft Foods Inc. split into two separate publicly traded companies: Kraft Foods Group, which focused on grocery products in North America, and Mondelez International, which focused on snacks and confectionery products globally. Mondelez International is now one of the largest snack food companies in the world, with brands such as Oreo, Chips Ahoy!, Ritz, Cadbury, Toblerone, and Trident.

Today, Mondelez International has a presence in more than 160 countries and employs over 80,000 people worldwide. The company's mission is to become the leading snacking company in the world, and it continues to innovate and introduce new products to meet the evolving needs and preferences of consumers around the globe.
