History

NYK Line was founded in 1891 as an ocean-freight transportation company in Japan. Over the years, it has grown to become one of the largest shipping companies in the world. It now has more than 800 ships, offices in 70 countries and its services extend to the Caribbean, India, North and South America and Europe. NYK Line also operates its own subsidiary companies and joint ventures, such as NYK Cruises, NYK Logistics and NYK Solutions.
