Olivier Rikken

Olivier Rikken graduated with an MSc in systems engineering, policy analysis and management from Delft University of Technology on the topic of discrete simulation models as support for continuous process improvement. Throughout his career he worked in various industries, always in roles responsible for both business strategy/process improvement on the one hand and IT development on the other, leading operational and IT teams. During his executive MBA at Nyenrode/Kellogg/Stellenbosch he started in the banking industry. In that time he first came into contact with blockchain and immediately saw the potential, and thus his blockchain deep dive journey started.

Olivier Rikken is a seasoned professional with a strong background in business strategy, IT development, and blockchain technology. He holds an MSc in systems engineering, policy analysis and management from the Delft University of Technology, where his thesis was focused on the application of discrete simulation models as support for continuous process improvement.

Throughout his career, Olivier has worked in various industries, always taking on roles responsible for both business strategy and process improvement on one hand, and IT development on the other, leading operational and IT teams. During his executive MBA program at Nyenrode/Kellogg/Stellenbosch, he was introduced to the banking industry, where he first came into contact with blockchain technology.

Immediately recognizing its potential, Olivier started on a blockchain deep-dive journey, and has since become a leading expert in the field. For the past few years, he has been working full-time as a blockchain and smart contract expert, with a particular focus on Ethereum.

Currently, Olivier works as a consultant at AXVECO, where he helps companies implement blockchain technology and smart contract solutions. He is also the chairman of the Smart Contract workgroup of the Dutch Blockchain Coalition, an organization that promotes the development and adoption of blockchain technology in the Netherlands.

Additionally, Olivier is an entrepreneur working on an Ethereum-based insurance concept, and an advisor for the Ethereum start-up SwarmCity. He provides expert advice to various blockchain start-ups, helping them navigate the complex world of blockchain technology and maximize their potential. With his extensive knowledge and experience in the blockchain industry, Olivier Rikken is a true innovator and a driving force behind the adoption of blockchain technology in the Netherlands and beyond.
