PAION AG is a specialty pharmaceutical company based in Germany that develops and commercializes innovative drugs for the treatment and diagnosis of medical conditions in the field of anesthesia and critical care.

History

PAION was founded in 1995 under the name Proteo Pharmaceuticals, and began trading in 2003 on the Neuer Markt (its name was changed to PAION the same year). The company has been dual-listed on the Frankfurt and London stock exchanges since 2007 and is headquartered in Aachen, Germany.
