Pam Transport was founded as Sweeney Trucking in 1980 by James and Janice Sweeney. In 1985, they changed the company's name to Pam Transport after their daughters Patti and Amy (the name “Pam” is a combination of their two daughters' names). In 1992, Pam Transport began carrying general commodities, primarily automotive parts and finished cars, to assume the Irregular Route position it still maintains today.
