In 2003, Peter became Chief Analyst for Global Telecom and IT at GlobalData Technology, where he worked for 15 years. During this time, he led multiple analyst teams and introduced innovative research deliverables such as Telecom Equipment Buyer and Innovation Impact.
Peter holds a Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) with a specialisation in International Business, Trade, and Commerce from Georgetown University (1995–1997). He also has a Bachelor of Arts (AB) in Economics from Cornell University (1991–1995). Peter actively supports causes related to animal welfare and science and technology innovation.

Peter Jarich is a seasoned technology market analyst, content marketer, and business leader with a distinguished career spanning over two decades. He is currently the Head of GSMA Intelligence, a position he has held since April 2018. Based in London, he oversees the commercial and content agenda for GSMA’s research and consulting division, focusing on supporting the mobile industry while driving diversification in GSMA’s revenue streams.
Peter pursued his undergraduate studies at Cornell University, earning an AB in Economics in 1995. He furthered his education at Georgetown University, where he completed a Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) with a specialisation in International Business, Trade, and Commerce in 1997.
As the Head of GSMA Intelligence, Peter manages operations, including budget, profit and loss (P&L), team productivity, marketing strategies, and content delivery. Under his leadership, the team has introduced innovative content streams such as technology primers, operator and end-user primary research, video blogs, and short-form analyses. These initiatives have significantly grown GSMA Intelligence's commercial research deliverables and custom consulting business. He supports a team of over 40 analysts, mentoring them and empowering managers to take on leadership roles. Additionally, he acts as a key liaison between product, marketing, and commercial teams, while serving as a subject matter expert in areas like 5G technologies, private wireless networks, spectrum trends, and cloud-based solutions.
Before joining GSMA, Peter held pivotal roles across leading organisations. At GlobalData Technology (2003–2018), he led telecom and IT content strategy, managing analyst teams and introducing innovative databases and surveys to track market trends. His thought leadership in emerging technologies such as software-defined networking (SDN) and network functions virtualisation (NFV) was widely recognised. He also played a key role in social media marketing, creating policies for Twitter and podcasting, and launching a carrier-facing infrastructure blog.
Earlier in his career, Peter was the Director of Broadband Research at The Strategies Group (2000–2002), where he developed research strategies focused on consumer broadband and content markets. He managed a team of analysts delivering market primers, network deployment data, and forecasts, while also leading research on fixed broadband technologies. At Adaptive Broadband (1999–2000), he introduced a new product and content marketing role, driving marketing efforts, establishing technology partnerships, and educating customers on market opportunities.
Peter’s expertise spans a broad range of domains, including cellular networks (2G to 5G), WiFi technologies, cloud architectures, IoT, RF spectrum, and consumer electronics.
