The company serves blast furnace steel mills and coke plants in the United States, as well as international metallurgical coal consumers. The company was founded in 2015 and is headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky.
History

Ramaco Resources was founded in 2011 following the successful acquisition of the Kentucky-based Ramaco Coal Company. Since then, the company has been an active participant in the coal industry, owning and operating the largest independent underground coal mine in the United States. Ramaco has continued to expand its coal reserves and production capabilities and is positioned to capitalize on the increased U.S. demand for high-value coals for the steel industry.
