The company was founded in 1913 in Yokohama, Japan, when Zenbei Sakata produced his first hybrid seed. Today, Sarkata Seed is a global leader in the breeding, production and sale of high-quality vegetable and ornamental seeds, with branch offices located in 14 countries on five continents.
