History
Sanderson Farms began in 1947 when founder, Dewey Sanderson, started with one commercial chicken farm. The subsidiary of Sanderson Farms, Inc., S&S Poultry, was incorporated in 1964 and the corporation was incorporated in 1965. Since then, the company has steadily increased in size and scope in the industry of poultry production and has now grown to become one of largest poultry producers in the United States.
