History

Formed on 1 June 2020, SassySpud understands the influential power of fashion as a means to advocate veganism and highlight the positive effects of a cruelty-free life on our planet, animals and health… all with a touch of humor. The tongue-in-cheek hilarious designs are designed in order to spread the message of a plant-based lifestyle and environmental protection through lighthearted slogans.

Sassy Spud was created in order to spread awareness of veganism. “We believe clothes are a great billboard to promote Veganism and the positive impact a cruelty free lifestyle can have on the planet, the animals and your health. At SassySpud we choose to create our designs with a little humour or sass added, which we feel helps lighten the mood around a more serious topic,” explains a note on their official website.

The fashion label is rooted in sustainability. All the garments are produced ethically in either with organic cotton or recycled polyester in 100 per cent sweatshop-free W.R.A.P Gold certified facility. PETA Approved 100% vegan, the production utilizes eco-friendly inks in a printing process that conserves water by seven times as compared to conventional fabric dyeing methods. The products are then packaged in recyclable and biodegradable materials. The e-shop checkout uses Shopify Payments and Paypal for secure and safe transactions.
