History

The George Washington University School of Business (GWSB) is deeply passionate about changing the world by delivering intellectually challenging, cutting-edge business education in a collaborative environment. Their teaching curriculum is focused on ethical leadership, globalisation, sustainability, and social responsibility and provides students with experiential learning opportunities that will prepare them to master the fundamentals of business as global leaders.

GWSB has 11 different research centres designed to address the most impactful world problems and find solutions to them. The school has always prided themselves on their intense focus on research and believe that “it’s not about what side you’re on, it’s about finding the answers.” They also state that they are at the intersection between business and society in Washington D.C. and serve as a location where important global conversations take place.

GWSB is also known for their international business programmes and hands-on opportunities that students are given when enrolled at the university. Instead of solely focusing on China and India, GWSB also provides studying and consulting opportunities in Rio de Janeiro, Istanbul and Mexico City, where the latest emerging markets are forming and rapidly expanding. The university believes that businesses and universities have a responsibility to positively transform society and the planet through international awareness and diversity.

Washington D.C. has over 20 museums and national memorials and over 180 foreign embassies, providing students with a rich, culturally intellectual environment to learn and grow in.  Many alumni have close ties with institutions and companies in D.C., working as consultants, advisors and interns.
