History

Scorpio Tankers Inc. was founded in 2009, with the help of world-renowned ship owners and industry leaders. The founders recognized the unique shipping opportunities presented by a rapidly consolidating tanker market and the need to capitalize on economies of scale as shipping rates and asset values began to normalize. With this in mind, the founders formed what today is one of the youngest and most modern fleets of intermediate and handy-size product tankers operating in the world.
