The company was formerly known as PT Semen Gresik (Persero) Tbk and changed its name to PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk in January 2013. PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk was founded in 1953 and is headquartered in Jakarta Selatan, Indonesia.

History

Semen Indonesia was established in 1957 as part of a joint venture between the Government of Indonesia and Holcim, one of the world's leading cement and building materials companies. Over the years, Semen Indonesia has grown from a small cement manufacturer to become one of the largest cement companies in Indonesia. The company has gone through various acquisitions and mergers and has increased its production capacity significantly over the years.
