Sharda University

Sharda University, established in 2009 under the Uttar Pradesh State Legislature Act No. 14 of 2009, is a private institution located in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f), the university is authorised to confer degrees as per Section 22(1) of the UGC Act, 1956. It is part of the Sharda Group of Institutions, founded by Pradeep Kumar Gupta and Yatendra Kumar Gupta in 1995.

The university offers over 135 undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes across various disciplines, including engineering, management, law, medical sciences, dental sciences, architecture, design, humanities, and more. These programmes are delivered through 14 schools, such as the School of Engineering and Technology, School of Business Studies, School of Law, and School of Medical Sciences & Research. Sharda University also provides online education through Sharda Online, offering courses like BA in Political Science, MBA, and MCA.

Sharda University has achieved several accolades and recognitions, including an A+ grade accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and a ranking of 86th in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024. The university's engineering programmes have received accreditation from the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), and its School of Pharmacy and School of Dental Sciences have been ranked 68th and 18th, respectively, in the NIRF 2024 rankings. Additionally, Sharda University ranks 32nd for Affordable and Clean Energy in the Times Higher Education rankings.

The Sharda Group of Institutions began its journey in 1996 with the establishment of Hindustan Institute of Science & Technology, followed by the creation of Anand Engineering College in 1998. The university has expanded its footprint both nationally and internationally, with campuses in Agra and Uzbekistan. Sharda University’s School of Pharmacy was ranked 68th in India by NIRF in the Pharmacy category in 2024, highlighting its expertise in pharmaceutical education and research. Additionally, the School of Dental Sciences secured the 18th position in the Outlook-ICARE rankings of the top private dental colleges in India for 2024. 

Sharda University was ranked 3rd in North India by Times Engineering for its engineering programs, which include a wide array of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in fields such as Computer Science, Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering.

According to the latest placement report, the highest salary package offered during the 2024 placements stood at INR 40 LPA. In 2024, over 450 multinational companies (MNCs) and corporates participated in the university's placement process, offering students positions across various sectors.
