Biography

Sheena Yap Chan was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. Growing up in the 1990s, she struggled with her cultural identity due to a lack of Asian representation in media. In her early twenties, she began embracing her Asian heritage, which later became a foundation for her career in self-confidence advocacy.

 

In 2015, Sheena launched The Tao of Self-Confidence podcast after struggling to find resources focused on confidence for Asian women. The podcast features interviews with women from different backgrounds discussing their self-confidence journeys. Over the years, the podcast has gained over 1.3 million downloads and ranks among the top 0.5% of global podcasts, with over 800 episodes featuring executives, celebrities, and industry leaders.

 

In 2023, Sheena published The Tao of Self-Confidence: A Guide to Moving Beyond Trauma and Awakening the Leader Within through Wiley.
