Shofu Inc. was founded in 1924 in the city of Kyoto, Japan, by Shofu Gotaro and Shimode Hisataka. The company started out making optical lenses and eyeglasses, but eventually shifted its focus to the field of dental equipment and supplies. Throughout the company’s long history, it has been an innovator in dental technology and materials, and has been awarded numerous patents in the area of orthodontics.
