Shoolini University was established in 2009 in the state of Himachal Pradesh, India, as a private, not-for-profit, multidisciplinary university. • APJ Abdul Kalam Auditorium: Named after the former President of India, it seats 200 people and is used for workshops, lectures, and conferences.
• Peter Drucker Hall: Designed for interactive sessions, workshops, and discussions.

• Open Air Theatre: A venue for cultural performances under the open sky.

According to the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings 2025, Shoolini University was again identified as the leading private university in India. It was placed 14th overall within India and ranked 587th globally. Notably, the university appeared in the top 500 globally for citations per faculty and international faculty presence. In India, it holds the top position among private universities for citations per faculty.

In subject-specific rankings by THE in 2024, Shoolini University was ranked as the number one private university in India for engineering, physical sciences, and life sciences. Globally, it was placed in the 301-400 bracket for physical and life sciences and within the 401-500 bracket for engineering.

The QS Asia University Rankings 2025 positioned the university 168th in Asia and 14th in India overall. It secured the highest rank among Indian private universities for citations per paper and international faculty.

In the QS Sustainability Rankings 2024, Shoolini University was ranked 579th globally overall and 142nd in Asia. It held significant positions in areas such as environmental sustainability, knowledge exchange, environmental impact, governance, health and wellbeing, equality, environmental education, and social impact within India.

Within the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024, Shoolini University was placed 70th among all Indian universities and 89th among all institutions in the country. The university was ranked 30th in pharmacy and 92nd in engineering, while its management programmes were placed in the 101-125 range.

The SCIMAGO Institutions Rankings 2025 listed Shoolini University 46th in India and 683rd in Asia overall. In research-specific rankings, it was positioned 16th in India and 330th in Asia. Subject-wise, the university ranked second in India for chemistry and energy, third for environmental science, ninth for physics and astronomy, and 28th for engineering.

Shoolini University maintains a dedicated placement cell that facilitates career opportunities for its students. During the recruitment process, students who secure placements have the option to undertake their final project as paid internships within the recruiting company. 

For the graduating class of 2024, Shoolini University achieved a 100% placement rate for students enrolled in BTech, MBA, Journalism, and Hotel Management programmes. According to the latest placement report, the highest salary package offered stood at INR 42 lakh per annum. Over 500 recruiters participated in the placement drives, collectively presenting more than 5,000 job opportunities to the 2024 batch.
