History

Sientra, Inc. develops, manufactures, and markets medical aesthetics products to plastic surgeons. The company initially secured the exclusive licence to the IDEAL IMPLANT, a structured implant, and marketed its product throughout the United States. It then established an FDA-approved facility in Carpinteria, California to manufacture the IDEAL IMPLANT. The next leap in the company's growth was the acquisition of Eurosil, S.A., a Portuguese-based silicone gel implant company. In 2012, it became the first publicly traded breast implant company in the United States, driving its profile and growth.
