History
SiS was founded in 1987 by four engineers and designers, Hwa Huang, Chih-Kang Wang, Shang-Yie Tsai and Cheng-Yuan Wang. It quickly became one of the major chipset suppliers on the x86 platform and is now an international provider of chipsets, processors and related products. During its chipmaking heyday, SiS had one of the largest production and R&D spendings in the computer industry.
