History

In 1958, Yukio Yamai founded Snow Peak in Sanjo City, Niigata Prefecture, Japan. At the time, the company was a small family business focused on producing extruded and machined parts but quickly grew in size and scope and began producing mountain climbing equipment. In 1979 Snow Peak developed its own unique, multi-functional and lightweight mountain climbing equipment, as well as its first camping product: the lightweight aluminum mug. Over the years Snow Peak has expanded from mountain climbing and camping equipment to apparel, furniture and other lifestyle goods.
