History
Southern Bank was established in 1923 as the first bank in North Carolina to be owned by a professional banker. This drive and focus on growth propelled Southern Bank to rapidly expand its footprint throughout the region. In the late 1990s, the bank began to invest in technology capabilities and instituted customer service training programs.
