History
Stirling Management School is part of the University of Stirling in Scotland. It has developed into a recognised centre for business and management education with a focus on academic excellence, practical training, and impactful research.
The University of Stirling was established by royal charter in 1967 and became known for its innovative approaches to higher education. As the university expanded, it incorporated a dedicated business school to meet the growing demand for management education. This unit gradually evolved into what is now known as the Stirling Management School.
Over the years, the School broadened its range of programmes to include undergraduate, postgraduate taught, and doctoral degrees across multiple business disciplines. The School focuses on areas such as accounting, finance, economics, management, marketing, and retail. It also offers professional and executive education courses such as the UK Government’s Help to Grow: Management Course, as part of its accreditation from the Small Business Charter.

A key milestone in its global reputation was achieved when Stirling Management School was awarded AACSB accreditation, placing it among the top 6% of business schools worldwide. It is also affiliated with the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME), committing the School to promoting sustainability, ethics, and responsible leadership through its curriculum and partnerships.
To further improve practical learning opportunities, the School introduced the AmplifyME Trading Boot Camp, a week-long financial market simulation in partnership with AmplifyME. The Boot Camp provides experience in roles within investment banks and hedge funds, live trading using real market data, and risk management training. The Boot Camp won the CFA Institute’s global Innovative Delivery of Education Award (IDEA).

Courses
Stirling Management School offers a comprehensive selection of undergraduate, postgraduate taught, and postgraduate research programmes, along with executive courses aimed at business professionals. At the undergraduate level, the School provides programmes such as BAcc Accountancy, BAcc Accountancy and Finance, BA Professional Accountancy, BA Finance, and BA degrees combined with Finance. The postgraduate taught portfolio includes degrees in MSc Investment Analysis, MSc Finance, MSc Finance and Risk Management, MSc Finance and Data Analytics, MSc Digital Banking and Finance, and MSc International Accounting and Finance. These programmes are designed for students who wish to advance their understanding of financial markets, data interpretation, risk modelling, and banking technologies. A key practical component for many of these programmes is the AmplifyME Trading Boot Camp, where students simulate trading in financial markets and manage multi-asset portfolios under real-time conditions.
The School also offers postgraduate taught degrees in other business areas, including MSc Marketing, MSc Human Resource Management, MSc Behavioural Science for Management, MSc Business Analytics, and MSc Data Science for Business. These courses provide training in market analysis, people management, consumer behaviour, data analysis, and decision-making in business contexts.
Postgraduate research opportunities are available across all core subject areas—Accounting, Finance, Economics, Management, Marketing, and Retail. Students can pursue a PhD or Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA). They are supported by academic supervisors and are encouraged to participate in research seminars and industry engagement initiatives.
The School also delivers the Help to Grow: Management Course, a government-supported executive programme for small and medium-sized enterprises. The course covers leadership, innovation, digital transformation, and financial planning.
