SSE's Master's program in Finance is ranked no. 18 worldwide as of 2018. The Masters in Management program is ranked no. 7 worldwide by the Financial Times. QS ranks SSE no.26 among universities in the field of economics worldwide. The school is the only privately funded university in Sweden.
SSE is accredited by EQUIS and is a member of CEMS. SSE has founded sister organizations: SSE Riga in Riga, Latvia, and SSE Russia in St Petersburg and Moscow, Russia. It also operates the European Institute of Japanese Studies, a research institute in Tokyo, Japan.
History

Courses
The SSE MBA Programme is designed to prepare participants to build, develop and lead organisations by providing a solid theoretical base combined with practical business experiences and real-life skill training. The programme is two years long and helps students gain a more in-depth understanding of fundamental business necessities in an executive role.
The learning philosophy of the programme is delivered by employing a multifaceted approach to the educational curriculum. It’s designed to be theoretical to improve analytical capabilities, practical for hands-on, real-world experiences, reflective to foster self-improvement and internalisation of new concepts, and skills-focused to progress students speaking, writing, and listening skills. The MBA programme is delivered in an executive, part-time format and is comprised of 16 five-day course weeks that occur Monday through Friday on every fifth week of the academic year. Students participate in a total of 80 contact days and have extensive homework in between weeks. Also, one or more international field trips are also conducted during the programme. The Executive Education Programme at SSE is delivered through a wide range of open enrollment and custom-tailored programmes for companies and organisations. The programmes are offered in Sweden, The Baltic region in Riga, Russia, and Finland. They are designed to enhance the competitive strength of individuals and their firms.
